Dark Magic

My "to-do" list ran out. I can't tell you when the last time was that happened. Since it ran out I have been busy relaxing, watching My Little Pony (the one from the 80s), re-reading the Harry Potter series, and working on a few of those things I had in mind for the New Year.

I have been ignoring my phone until early afternoon to work on certain things that can't be done with interruptions. This has been a tremendous help. I never realized how consumed I was by all of the calls/texts/games until I went without it.

Anyway enough of that. I flipped on the television the other day for some background noise when I realized "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," was on. Although this is my least favorite of the HP movies I hadn't seen it in ages so I opted to leave the channel as it was. Plus it was the perfect excuse to wear my new Hogwarts shoes because of course I have to have them on when HP is on...just in case they suddenly turn into some weird "Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz," shoes, and I suddenly transport to Voldemort's lair or Diagon Alley. Unfortunately I did not suddenly transport to any wizarding world during the film, but I guess that is a good thing because I would need a certain big-butted man to accompany me on any journey like that. At the conclusion of the program I shut off the television while I worked on some more things.

Justin got home and we were getting ready to watch "Boy Meets World," like we do every night because Justin always begs me to watch it. He usually jumps up and down repeatedly while saying "pppaaaalease?!?" In a girlish voice while I cast him a look of the utmost pity and then relent. I'm such a good girlfriend.

So Justin casually flipped on the television and there were boobs and butts everywhere and something about porn. I stood there affronted and open jawed.

Justin: what is this?

Me: uhhhh....

Justin: I thought you said you were watching Harry Potter today?

Me: I was watching Harry Potter, they tricked me! This is dark magic.

Justin: oh this is HBO-but why is this on it is only eight o'clock...

Me: What is this world coming to?

Justin: We have a free trial, it was supposed to end.

Me: make it end!

He changed the channel which was quick (and smart) thinking on his part. I was thinking of karate kicking the big screen.  I am glad Justin resolved the issue before I had to. The HBO gods must have heard our complaints because today the channel was no longer available. Oh and, fret not because the "Boy Meets World," marathon continues since I never karate kicked the television.

Ps- I found think a few weeks ago. Pretty cleaver.

Art-tastic

I am super excited because my old neighbor (from when I was in high school) started selling his art and I bought this yesterday for a very fair $15.

It is no secret that I love Hayao Miyazaki. This is the forest spirit from “Princess Mononoke.” Here is what he looks like in the movie.

Needless to say I can’t wait to find the perfect place to hang this. Art is always more meaningful to me when I am acquainted with the artist.

I had better sign off for now because my pants (basketball shorts) are on backwards. This is a classy problem for a lazy Saturday of course. Justin keeps trying to reach in my pockets since they now provide the perfect pathway to my bunz of steel.

When in Tuskany...

Last night Justin and I were up super late because I had gone to Hastings (video rental store) amongst my running errands and got VERY excited about all of the new release movies. I walked out of the store with three new titles: “Tusk,” “This is Where I Leave You,” and “Two Night Stand.” We had to watch all three back to back since Justin has a social affair this evening.  We were up well after midnight as evidenced by last night’s blog.

May I just say “Tusk” is… something else? I do like off the wall plot lines that leave little to predictability and dance on the edge of unrealistic. That film not only did those things but just was very interesting. I don’t want to spoil anything for those who want to see the movie and have yet to. I guess what I would like to say is if you are considering viewing this particular movie that you read the plot summary first. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Justin informed me that Kevin Smith (the creator of the movie) is coming out with two more movies with the same cast that were in “Tusk.” I must admit I was slightly surprised by the fact that Haley Joel Osment (spelling?) was one of the characters. Also Johnny Depp and Kevin Smith's daughters were both briefly in the film. I will be watching the other films if for nothing else other than curiosity.

Anyway back to my original point. Yesterday I spent running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I did get to accomplish a lot which is nice. After watching the three movies I was quite tired. A friend of mine posted this video on FB today and I feel it is totally indicative of how I was feeling last night. Except I was really hungry since I skipped lunch-so I was half falling asleep half begging Justin to make me a five course dinner.

Could It Be Second Christmas?

I would like to call today second Christmas. 'Why?' You ask? Because these came in the mail and I am absolutely thrilled.

Unfortunately I am scared to wear them outside currently; being as the ground is covered with mush from the frequent dustings of snow and freezing rain. But before we know it the temperatures will turn and I will be prancing around town waving my feet at people like a crazy person.

In addition to my hip new footwear I opted to swap my fermented filled chocolate cake breakfast for a healthier yet still delicious oatmeal/banana/applesauce cookie bar. Justin's mom was kind enough to make them for us. I do still have some chocolate cake left so I can mix it up when I am feeling extra gluttonous, however for now I am switching it up. Not because I'm trying to be healthy but because in order to appreciate the rich wonder that is raspberry chocolate cake, one can not over indulge too much... Other wise I may become like this:
Obviously fermented filling makes one become riddled with a combination of gangrene and elephantitis... Sad but could maybe be true; just never know about this world and its goings on.

Now if you will excuse me it is past my bed time and I need to go hug my new shoes goodnight :) may your dreams be filled with muggles, magic and sweets.

Case of the Mondays

Today started most definitely as a stereotypical kind of Monday. I had big plans, and lots of things to accomplish today. Unfortunately I left my house slightly later than I would have liked. I blame the fermented raspberry filing in the chocolate cake I had for breakfast.

About midway to my first destination (after 20 minutes of driving or so) I realized I forgot my wristlet which holds all of my cash and cards. I had taken it out of my purse earlier in the day to pay a bill and neglected to replace it. To placate my temper I considered making a pit stop at one of my favorite thinking places but the freezing rain did not sound appealing.
So instead I talked like an angry dinosaur in the car the entire rest of the way to my first stop. Fortunately for me this stop did not require my wallet but every other stop I had to make did.

I called my friend after handling my business affairs, and she too was having an irritating day. She was angrily trying to commiserate with me while explaining something to me all in a huff when she said; "and so I decided to caution on the side of err because it was the smart thing to do."

Yes, yes my friend you are so wise :) She gave me just the laugh I needed. Ahh, the little things in life. Although I guess true friendships aren't very little they are in fact rare gems in a sea of madness.

My day did turn around quickly after that. Justin picked up dinner so I didn't have to grocery shop, and he helped take care of a few of the other things I wanted to accomplish. That man just makes me fall more and more in love with him every day.

Over All; Life is Perfect :)

Justin and I (and Justin's parents) got to finally see the last installment of "The Hobbit," this afternoon. It was bittersweet since I am sure "The Silmarillion" will not be made into a movie so that might have just been the last I see Gandalf. Sad, sad day. I must admit there was a tremendous amount of war and CGI in the film but we still did enjoy it. I do wish they would have given Bombur more air time.

In other news I tried to convince Justin to wear overalls the other day. My efforts, unfortunately, were fruitless. At one point I thought I had him convinced when I agreed to him being able to wear a train conductor hat with the overalls. Is it sad that is one of the highlights of my life? :) without school occupying my mind there are a great many things to utilize my time now... But picking on Justin takes the cake.

Speaking of my time a friend of mine was smart enough to snag a kitchen table for us at a bargain price yesterday. So now I get to try my hand at sanding, and refinishing :) I must admit I am pretty excited. I hope I can wear a hard hat and tool belt because I think then it would be easier to boss Justin around if I had a Bob the Builder outfit on because Bob the Builder is super professional, intimidating, and bossy. Bonus maybe I can get me some overalls and then Justin will be jealous and my evil plan from before just might work after all. :)

Happy New Year

So the New Year has begun. The big 2-0-1-5 where has the time gone?

While I am not amongst those who will be shouting their resolutions from the rooftops; I do have some things in mind. However don’t let me know, that I know that I might have a couple of resolutions because if me finds out I will do everything in my power to ensure that these do not come true. Confused? Try being me.

I swear if I pay mind to anything that I am in the process of accomplishing I get overwhelmed and can’t go on. My goal-oriented mind is like ‘hey I heard you want to study for this examination,’

and my whiny melodramatic mind is like; ‘you can’t see me, what examination, what? Are we human or are we dancers?’
and then things just get really wonky and I wind up eating a bag of onion rings or something of the like.

It is only once set goals are complete that I can admit to ever having goals, recognize accomplishing them, and celebrate with cake and Harry Potter marathons. So maybe a few months into the year you will see me post something about accomplishing a certain goal(s), or perhaps you will just see me posting about cake... which may or may not indicate that I have done something to deserve said cake.

Happy New Year dear readership and by whatever means it is that you better your lives; be it goal-setting or something different, may you prosper on and be successful at having a happier fuller life. And for goodness' sake-let there be cake.
