Let's Go To Denmark

There is something magical about that time of year when temperatures start to climb after a bitingly cold winter. One of my favorite pastimes is curling up with a blanket on our chair swing outside with a good book during such times. The past few weeks have been sprinkled with temperatures hovering around sixty degrees. It has been simply delightful.

After my acupuncture treatment today I spent the late morning and early afternoon soaking up the sun in our backyard. Of course "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," kept me company. I heard the familiar rumble of the UPS truck so I reluctantly abandoned my sun bath to see what had come.

My aunt was kind enough to prepare a box of odds and ends from my grandparent's house. I flipped through the items which smelled of old memories. I must say this was the most hilarious thing I received:

I had never seen anything like that before. Her swimsuit literally melts away when you invert the pen. I held the pen at a distance when taking the video because the photo on the pen is rather graphic. But still; it is awesome sauce.

I wonder if I can find someone that can make me a Justin pen that does this. I would prefer the backside angle of course just in case anyone sees my special pen. The maker of the lady pen says "Denmark." Maybe on my way to feed the narwhals Justin and I can make a pit stop in Denmark and demand that they forge a pen just like Elrond did with that sword in Lord of the Rings for Aragon. Except I won't be killing dark lords with the pen but I can definitely draw pictures of narwhals and Voldemort so it's pretty much the same thing.

Edit: phone subscribers can't see the first video I posted so here are a couple crappy photos.

Mythical Creatures

Justin: What is the difference between a centaur and a Minotaur?

Me: You don't know what a centaur is?

Justin: Yeah it's half man- half human.
Me: You may be onto something there, sir...

Justin is wise beyond his years; and yes I did tell him about his shiny Cindy Crawford mole :)

Cat Calls

I went for a walk today to get to my doctor appointment since I can’t drive (more on that later). ♪ I’m a maniac, maaaaniac ♪ remember that song? I’m not really a maniac for walking to my appointment but it was slightly over two miles one way. This was quite the accomplishment considering I haven’t exercised since January thirty first. Yay me.

I was on my way when I got cat called by some people in a car passing by. Then I was like ‘I still got it.’ About five minutes went by and I faintly heard someone cat calling me again. The calls became louder with each step I took. I must have been looking really good because whoever it was wasn’t afraid of stopping as I approached. I turned the volume down a notch on my iTunes so I could really listen because it sounded like perhaps I was approaching a dangerous scene.

I walked in trepidation; each step the call becoming a little more forceful. Then I saw an eye peering at me from behind some brush in someone’s yard. It was a rooster. *sigh. Come to think of it whoever yelled at me from inside the car was probably just upset that I was walking in the street since there was no sidewalk. Oh Caldwell; how you tease me so.

Also all this cat speak brings me to this Luna Lovegood’s cat photo I discovered on Instagram today. Pay mind to the caption:

One Shade of Grey

I have been painting our walls again. I think it is partly because there is all this to-do going on about "50 Shades of Grey," I seriously see ads for that everywhere. All I can think about is all of the grey paint in our cupboard under the stairs. It would be amazing to finish painting so that I could make the cupboard under the stairs into a homage paying tribute closet to Harry Potter.

Anyway there are some mighty tough spaces to reach in our humble abode. Today the following text conversation transpired with Justin regarding those tough spaces:

Me: Does your dad have one of those stair ladders that can set one side of the legs on one step, and the other legs on the other step?

Justin: Nope

Me: Okay. Hmmm I will have to figure something else out then.

Justin: Ya I'm not sure.

Me: Maybe I will become acrobatic.

Justin: I bet you could.

Me: Can we try this on the stair walls?

Justin: Yes we can.

Me: I figure you can use your big toes to hold the paint brush.

Me: You will need to practice tonight by painting me a picture. I prefer a narwhal, but I'll also accept a cat or an elephant.

Justin: I'll get right on it.

So now that this is a blog I can officially hold Justin to his promise. I look forward to the day I can share footart with you. I anticipate nothing less than a masterpiece.

Ps Ian McKellen posted this on Facebook the other day. ♥

Ostriches, Crocodiles, and Llamas; Oh my!

I had to come back prematurely to this blog despite the fact that I was aiming to extend my break until the end of this week. You see I was reading about this 100 year old crocodile who died recently from over eating. I guess he was obese to begin with but then people started feeding him goats and chickens for “good luck,” and that overwhelmed his digestive system. This just goes to show that eating meat will kill you. Ba ha ha I’m kidding about that last bit. In all seriousness as least chunky looked happy in his final days. Just look at that toothy grin :)

Speaking of animals eating; I found this on Imgur today.

I think it is a fair representation of Justin’s and my relationship when it comes to food. Justin is the llama in the background obviously.

Taking a Little Break

I'm sad to announce that I will be taking a very small sabbatical of sorts from my blog. I hope to be back in the swing of things by the end of next week. I know I only have a handful of readers but I just figured saying something is better than nothing.

In the meantime please accept this apologetic looking seal as an apology.

Justin Ascending

Justin: I clicked on this “Cosmo,” article because it was telling me that if I wanted to not be so attracted to Channing Tatum I should click on it.

Me: And???

Justin: Well it talked about how “Magic Mike XXL,” is coming out and how all the ladies can’t stop liking Channing Tatum...

Me: Okay?

Justin: So then they showed a picture of Channing Tatum from “Jupiter Ascending.”

Me: Should I be worried?

Justin: No; I just thought it was funny because he looks so weird in that movie.

Me: Yeah but you clicked on an article telling you how not to be attracted to Channing Tatum.

Justin: Yeah...

If you need me I will be wall papering our house with "Jupiter Ascending," Channing Tatums to scare Justin into staying in our relationship.
