Homecoming

Absence makes the heart grow fonder :) At least that is the case for Justin and me. Swoon; feel free to skip this post if you're feeling slightly vomitty from romantics.

I got home today from my work trip only to discover not one but two bouquets of flowers and some gifts from my man.

He knows me so well. Draco, Snape and "Howl's Moving Castle," the book?! I'm spoiled it's true. As much as I'd love to burrow into a blanket fort this weekend snuggled up to a certain big-butted man alas, I have many exciting things on the horizon.

I'm truly fortunate to have such a loving individual however. And It's great to be home.

I've Been Away Awhile

Yes I've disappeared again. I was recently asked why I write on a blog. While I came up with a half a dozen reasons on the spot; over analytical me eventually got self-conscious and fell off the face of the planet of written words.

I blog because I blog because I blog to blog. Blog. BLOG.

I'm back. There's no telling how long I'll stick around again. I'm beginning to feel like a boomerang who is off kilter.

Currently I'm away on business. I'm in one of my favorite towns; Baker City, Oregon. You remember the one with the cat in the store. How could you forget? (I link the prior exhilarating blogs once I have Internet access from my laptop.)
Terrible photo-kitty was grumpy.

Today is our last day here. It has been a long journey but a good one.

The following interaction transpired:

Me to patient: how are you today

Patient: better than the guy that got killed

Me:... Oh (secretly wondering if I am about to be murdered-- this must be why there is a razor blade in the drawer. Self defense)

Patient: yeah that's what he gets for driving too fast. No seat belt. Sunroof open. Blood everywhere

Me: oh my gosh I'm so sorry how terrifying did you see it happen?

Patient: no saw the after effects. Looks like it was quick

Me: (thinking) fucking hell how is this casual talk

Then her husband comes in and teaches me to fence with my arm. Like keeps saying en guard! And coming at me. And I'm like stop coming at me bro.
Luckily I survived. I'm still trying to figure out how. I felt like I was in Game of Thrones dueling 'til the death. But here I am. And I am writing a blog about it. Because I blog.

Trippin'

I've been out of town on a work trip the past few days. Which you would know if you have been subjected to my extraordinarily boring blog lately. You may recall yesterday I mentioned that I am on the verge of dying from a very gnarly cold of some sort. I suspect dementors. I know what your thinking; this will be the best blog she has ever written and it totally won't be about cats because she is on her death bed. False. Sorry to disappoint.... This photo sums up how I feel to a 'T,' and it has cats.

Justin has been trying to be a dutiful fiancĂ© because he gets weepy when I am not at home. He complains about having to order Carl's Junior, Los Betos, and family size portions from pasta places. Though I'm pretty sure it is like ninety thanksgiving feasts in a row when I leave (for him) because he eats his feelings sometimes. Exhibit A link.

My throat has been so sore that we've been unable to talk over the phone. I've considered face timing him but it could get terribly confusing with him trying to interpret my facial expressions and charades. He'd probably be like "??? You want to go on a murder spree," and I'd be like, "no silly I want to go on a shopping spree." Just would be all sorts of messed up. So instead we text bitching about not being able to talk. It's been lame. However since there is a silver lining in everything so I'm going to say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I just made that up right here on the spot... But seriously can't wait to get home and have my bubble butt bake me a sympathy cake, pie, brownies and cookies.

Baker Kitty

Occasionally I work in Baker City because women here have boobs too. I've been here the past few days missing Justin like crazy and feeling like crap. Somehow I got sick with the whole sore throat body aches thing. Last night I had to get up twice in the middle of the night to shower since I was so cold. It was 70 degrees in here too so I knew something was off. Then this morning there was a spider in my bathroom and I was like, "nooooooooo," because it was probably watching me shower last night. Fucking perv.

Anyway you may recall from a couple blogs I wrote ages ago that stores in Baker sometimes have cats. I think all stores should indoctrinate this cat policy; it sure would alleviate animal shelter overpopulation. There is this one store in particular in Baker that has a cat I love to stalk. Without fail every time I visit I go see this cat.

Today she was super pissy. I pet her and she was like, "raaawrrrmeow," and I was like "what the hell?" Then I walked around the store pretending to shop for like ten minutes while I tried to take photos of the cat.  Unfortunately kitty kept licking her own crotch because I'm pretty sure she knew what I was up to. So I only got a couple half way okay photos.

I decided to pet the cat goodbye and she yelled at me again because I may or may not have interrupted her bath time. Then she bit me with her crotch breath and I was like... "Somebody seems angry. Do you want a hug?" And she yelled really loud and bit me again. So I left bitter in both the figurative way, and the my hand smells like cat vag kind of way. Thanks Baker City. Thanks a lot.

Baker City Kitties

It's a new week and I'm on a new work trip. All this time away from Justin makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in the plot of a sob-by Lifetime movie. At least most of those have happy endings. Hopefully our lives aren't like that horrid "Craigslist Killer," Lifetime movie *shudder. Justin; if you're reading this and looking at Craigslist STOP! This won't end well.

Today we arrived extra early to our hotel since we departed the hospital quicker than we'd anticipated. Unfortunately we were unable to check in early since Mrs. Grumpy Hospitality Lady was in a mood. This allowed us to explore the historic downtown area where I snapped two photos. I would have gotten more but I was distracted by a real live kitty in a store front. The darn store was closed as were most of the shops since it was Monday; a fine reason to be closed.

My mission is to find the kitty and pet it before we leave.
